All Saints Anglican School is preparing to open its doors for the upcoming academic year, catering to students from Prep to Year 7.
Principal Jim Laussen has shared the progress made so far, leaving no doubt that the institution is on track to meet its scheduled opening.
“The slabs have been poured for the administration building,” Mr Laussen said.
“The first half of the junior school building slab has been poured, and they’re expecting to pour the second half of that later this week, weather permitting.
“But it is absolutely on track.
“In fact, the slabs are ahead of schedule.”
With this assurance, parents and students can expect the school to be fully operational from day one.
To further ease any concerns, Mr Laussen said the uniforms had already been sorted out, and he had already received positive responses.
Regarding the recruitment of staff, he expressed his delight at the response the school had received so far.
“Staff-wise, we’re advertising this week, so the link will go live for expressions of interest,” he said.
“But it’s been fantastic.
“Even yesterday, I had three people deliver CVs. Today, I had two more, so people are realising that it’s a great opportunity to work in a brand new school.
“We’re probably up to 15 or 20 people that have sent in CVs, all of which are very impressive. So that’s a nice way to start.”
Mr Laussen said the school aimed to hire teaching staff that could cater to students from Prep to Year 7, covering the full spectrum of primary education.
A maintenance staff member and several administrative support staff will also be employed.
While the initial student enrolment is expected to be around 250, the number of staff members is estimated to be between 18 and 20 in the first year.
However, as the school grows, the staff count will increase to meet demand.
Mr Laussen said he had been actively engaging with families interested in joining the school, personally meeting with 40 new families in the past week alone.
“I’ve just met some wonderful, wonderful people — and some fabulous students, most importantly,” he said.
The enrolment process is still open, and Mr Laussen emphasised the school’s inclusivity.
“Even though we’re an Anglican School, we’re open to people of all faiths and no faiths,” he said.
“I’ve met with some Christian families, some families that don’t identify with a faith position at all, but Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, all are welcome to the school.”
Mr Laussen said education at All Saints Anglican School would be characterised by a caring academic environment, ensuring the holistic development of each child.
He also highlighted the school’s commitment to nurturing and pushing students academically, creating an optimal environment for their growth.
Mr Laussen said being part of the Anglican Schools Commission, a system of 16 schools with exceptional reputations, added to the credibility and expertise of All Saints Anglican School.
For those seeking further information, the school’s Wyndham St office welcomes visitors and encourages inquiries.
“For those wanting more information, they can absolutely call in,” Mr Laussen said.
“The most important thing people want to know is that the school will open.”
