All smiles at KDHS disability day

Disability day: Eight-year-old Joseph Pichler (right) from Kyabram, with brothers Josiah and Levi, at the Kyabram District Health Service’s International Day of People with a Disability celebration.

An eight-year-old throwing a frisbee on the lawn with his brothers, in itself, is probably not a newsmaking event.

In the case of Jacob Pichler, however, the interaction he has with his six and 11-year-old brothers, Josiah and Levi, is a significant part of his life.

Jacob, from Kyabram, has a disability and is home schooled. He was among many people, either with a disability in involved in caring, that attended the Kyabram District Health Service’s International Day of People with a Disability event.

Face painting, bubble blowing, games and information sessions were part of the three-hour celebration on the lawns of the health service.

More photos from the event and details of guest speaker Michelle Wilcox’s address inside next week’s edition.

Blown away: Lockington’s Kaitlyn Lewis attended the KDHS event with her carer, Wendy Coad, enjoying the many activities of the event on the lawns of the Fenaughty St facility ― including bubble blowing.
Mirror, mirror: Vivid’s Brendan Jasper, from Echuca, likes what he sees in the mirror after face painter Natasha Trungove had finished his facial tribute to Spiderman.
