A woman was flown to a Melbourne hospital after an alleged hit and run at Arcadia last week.

Police said the alleged incident, involving a black Mercedes SUV and a woman who was on foot, happened in Bridge Rd about 6.55pm on Tuesday, March 21.

The 46-year-old woman suffered significant injuries and was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital that night, according to police.

A man was arrested and has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury and driving while suspended.

He will face Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on the charges.
