An allegedly stolen car took off on police when officers tried to intercept it at a Kialla service station early on Thursday, March 21.

Crime Investigation Unit Detective Senior Constable Mick Guppy said police attended an incident at the United service station on the Goulburn Valley Hwy at Kialla about 4.30am.

When police tried to intercept the white Holden Commodore, it took off on them, Det Sen Constable Guppy said.

Police did not pursue the vehicle.

Police located the car about 9am dumped in Cezanne Dve in Shepparton.

Anyone who saw the vehicle is asked to phone Det Sen Constable Guppy at Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit on 5820 5777.
