Some enjoyable bicycle safety lessons were taught at Edward Public School on Wednesday.

The day saw Deni Highway Patrol members Senior Constable David Connolly and Constable Brendan Wisbey attend the school to teach the students about bicycle laws and answer any questions they had.

Also in attendance were 15 of the 16 Deni High school students preparing for the Great Vic Bike Ride from Wodonga to Mansfield.

They lead their primary counterparts on the Rideathon that followed.

Students, teachers and community members completed the course by bicycle and walking safely around the school block.

It looked like a lot of fun and a barbecue lunch was in store for those who participated.
