Aquamoves Swim School is experiencing staff shortages, but it’s far from a sink-or-swim situation.

In fact, it presents a unique opportunity for aspiring swim instructors.

On Tuesday, July 23, Greater Shepparton City Council is hosting a recruitment day at Aquamoves in Shepparton, featuring a simplified job application process to make it more accessible.

No attendees will be thrown in the deep end, as candidates can apply through practical components and informal conversations with council staff in a relaxed environment.

Aquamoves programs and education co-ordinator Liliana Angeles said she was eager to meet potential employees and assist them through a streamlined recruitment process.

“Whether you are experienced, a recent graduate, transitioning to retirement or seeking a career change, this event is for all and will provide an informal, pressure-free and interactive environment,” she said.

“We are looking for people from diverse backgrounds, and if you like helping others, I strongly suggest you register to attend the recruitment day.”

Successful candidates will be fully immersed in a glow of cobalt, concrete wraparounds, pool noodles and a sense of fulfilment.

“It’s a role I thoroughly enjoy,” Aquamoves swim instructor Ann Mercaldi said.

“Every day, we help individuals learn essential water safety skills and build their confidence in the water.

“Those who attend the recruitment day will discover just how impactful and rewarding this career can be.”

The Aquamoves Swim School recruitment day is on Tuesday, July 23, at Aquamoves, 25 Tom Collins Dve, Shepparton.

Sessions will run hourly from 1pm to 5pm, each lasting about one hour.

Those who wish to attend must register their interest at shepp.city/sird2024
