Deniliquin South School students could not wait for tonight’s Rotary Carols by Candlelight to launch into the festive season with their favourite Christmassy songs.
Half an hour was set aside on Tuesday morning for the whole school to come together in a singalong.
Each class performed a Christmas carol, with each having an Aussie theme.
The students have been working with Zowie Crump on the songs and props over recent months.
Iconic images used in the artistic part of the performance included barbecues, utes and even Akubras.
A bit of festive fun before the end of the school term, everyone had an amazing time.
To make the day even more festive, students were encouraged to come to school in their best Christmas outfits.
The community carols event in the Deniliquin Waring Gardens tonight is part of the Edward River Town Christmas Party festivities.
Supported by Edward River Council and sponsored by SunRice, the carols will include performances from a number of local bands and singers.
The party gets under way from 6pm, and will also include face painting, Christmas crafts, an animal nursery, balloon animals, giant inflatable and food options.
The free event will conclude with the traditional fireworks display.
