Australia Post truck goes up in flames in Seymour

Australia Post is investigating the cause of a mail delivery truck fire in Seymour on Tuesday, March 1.

A CFA media spokesperson said nine fire trucks responded to the blaze at a northbound service centre on the Hume Fwy at Seymour at 2.55am.

When crews arrived, the trailer was “fully engulfed”, the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said crews made up of about 25 firefighters fought the blaze for about half an hour and declared it under control at 3.30am.

Crews remained at the scene for some time.

An Australia Post spokesperson said the company had launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.

All customers affected by the fire will be contacted.
