Awards for local sport stars

A number of Berrigan’s sports stars are at the top of their game this year.

It's been a big year for Kim Collins on the soccer field.

Kim was named captain of Division 2 for Cobram Roar and last weekend Kim capped off the year with Best and Fairest for the division.

Then to top off a great weekend, Emily Collins was named Best and Fairest in the under-13 Murray League vote count.

Emily will play in the grand final this Saturday for Cobram.

Congratulations also to Emily Browne who has made Oven's and Murray League history on Monday night after becoming the first netballer to win four Toni Wilson Medals.

Emily is the the coach of North Albury who made finals this year.

It was a great year for Emily and her North Albury team.

The Berrigan community is very proud of Emily.

Well done to all of you on a great year.

Berrigan Lions and Finley Can Assist are holding a raffle and street stall on October 11 outside Berrigan IGA.

Raffle tickets can be purchased at Berrigan Pharmacy, Berrigan IGA, Bizzy Sizzors and Berrigan Bakehouse.

The prizes are vouchers from the Federal Hotel, Berrigan Bakehouse, Berrigan Pharmacy and a trailer full of wood from Berrigan Lions.

All money raised will support cancer patients in our community.

The Musical Spectacular is returning to Berrigan on Saturday, October 12 starting at 2pm at the Berrigan Memorial Hall.

Tickets are $30 and children under 17 is $15.

The afternoon will feature returning and new artists, and afternoon tea will be provided by Jill Petzke and her workers extraordinaire.

All ticket proceeds will go to the Berrigan War Memorial Hall.

Berrigan Show trophy donors are asked to leave their trophies at the Berrigan Red Cross Shop by the Wednesday, September 25.
