The Rochester Service Centre and library reopened at its Mackay St location on Wednesday, May 15.

Following significant damage from the 2022 floods, the library and service centre were relocated to Gillies St.

The refurbishments finished over a month ahead of schedule, originally set for June 30.

This temporary location ensured services remained operational during the refurbishment of the Mackay St site.

It took staff two days to relocate, moving furniture, books, resources, and equipment from Gillies St to their original location.

The reopened precinct offers a new layout, featuring a larger library, a new meeting room with kitchenette, two private reading pods, and a fresh look.

Residents can book the new meeting room through the front desk.
