Back to school will be action packed

School holidays have started, and there is plenty to look forward to when classes resume later in July.

Jerilderie Public School will be hosting the Small Schools Athletics Carnival at Monash Park on Friday, July 26, with a 9.30am start.

Students in K-6 from Jerilderie, Lowesdale and Urana will be participating.

St Joseph’s Catholic School Jerilderie will be holding grandparents day on July 23, and will be involved in the Diocesan Athletics Carnival on July 29.

St Joseph’s Deb Ball team is to be congratulated on raising more than $8000 from the recent ball.

These funds will be used to support various lessons and activities within the school community.

The finals of the local section of Lions Public Speaking will be held at Jerilderie Public School on Thursday, July 25, at 9.30am.

Parents and community members are welcome to attend, but should present at the office upon entry for a visitor’s check-in.

Jerilderie finalists are:

St Joseph’s - Ella, Kira, and Ainslee from K/1/2; Franky and Koa from Year 3/4; and Lexie and Ryder from Year 5/6.

JPS speakers are Hamza, Shania, Charlie and Lincoln.

We wish them all well.

St Joseph’s School community has recently been the grateful recipient of a defibrillator, donated by the Jerilderie Apex Club.

All staff have been trained in its use, and it is expected to arrive in the next week or so.

Jerilderie Hospital Auxiliary will hold its annual general meeting on Thursday, July 25, at 2pm in the Community Centre meeting room, unless otherwise advised.

New members are always welcome.
