A packed crowd at the Shed cheered on some of the region’s best musicians and singers at the 2024 Battle of the Bands grand final on Saturday night.

While the night was a drink and drug-free event that saw the town’s teens dancing the night away, there was also a purpose behind the event.

Awards were handed out for the best solo artist and best band, chosen from winners of previous heats.

Samara Bright, the Indigo Shire heat winner, was named best solo performer, and Dylan Cosgriff and the Omens, who won in their heat in Towong Shire, were named best band.

An overall winner was also chosen, with Samara taking the accolade, which will see her perform at the Moomba Festival later in the year with the support of youth music charity The Push.
