Thoona Country Women’s Association legend and founding member Betty Nicol recently celebrated 77 years with the group.

Club President Jan James said Betty joined Thoona CWA in 1946 as one of its original members.

“(She) has been a regular attendee of our monthly meetings up until this last year, (when) she has moved into the Rangeview Nursing home in Wangaratta,” Ms James said.

“Betty has held all branch office positions and has been a committed contributor to our activities and won many prizes for her knitting.
