It was a cold but sunny morning for the 2024 Mild2Wild Swap Meet and Show N Shine on Sunday, when a crowd of 1300 filed through the gates of the recreation reserve to check out the event.

There was an array of more than 115 swap meet sites that were fully booked well in advance, plus delicious food and hot coffee, and some spectacular cars, bikes and trucks on display.

Trophies were awarded for the top five cars, top three bikes and top truck.

The top five cars in no particular order were Chris Burns’ 1971 Ford ZD Fairlane, Allan Limbrick’s 1973 Ford Gran Torino sports, Andrew Beggs’ 1930 Ford A model coupe, Darren Butler’s 1974 Valiant Charger and Renea McCallum’s 1974 Holden Torana.

The top three bikes in no particular order were Wayne Nelson’s 2009 Harley Davidson Sportster, Mandy Clancy’s 2015 Harley Davidson Softail Heritage classic and Chris Graham’s 1950’s Irial.

Top truck was awarded to Jim Brockwell’s 1952 Ford F1.

The Mild2Wild team thank the public, the swap meet site holders and the Show N Shine entrants for their support of this annual event.

They also extend a special thank you to the Tocumwal Football Netball Club for their expertise in the kitchen, hugely easing the pressure on the club members.

Congratulations to the Mild2Wild Committee on a great event.

It was very sad to hear of the passing of Elaine Ball.

Elaine was an amazing lady who contributed so much to our local community during her life and volunteered for a wide array of organisations in our area.

The family would like to invite friends to a celebration of Elaine’s life to be held on Saturday, July 13 at 11am at the Tocumwal War Memorial Hall.

Condolences to all of her family on Elaine’s passing.

It is great to hear that the Can Assist Tocumwal Trivia Night was a huge success.

Congratulations to the winners, ‘The Chasers’, and the runners-up, ‘The Quizzards of Oz’.

Can Assist thanks those who attended and their trivia master Fred Braybon who did an excellent job.

They also thank their event sponsors who very generously donated wonderful prizes. Sponsors included Mulwala Waterski Club, Club Tocumwal, IGA Tocumwal, Farmers Arms Hotel Tocumwal, Tocumwal Pharmacy, Beef Chief Jerky and Homewood Bound.

The Can Assist trivia team also thanks the Tocumwal RSL Sub-branch for hosting, Vicky for serving the beverages and Gayle for assisting as well as Matt and Kylie for tossing the coins and giving everyone a laugh.

Lastly, they thank their team of wonderful volunteers who organised the event.

The Trivia Night raised a significant amount of funds for Can Assist Tocumwal, which is such a worthy charity.

The group spends a large amout of money each year on patient support, so this fundraiser made a massive contribution to its annual fundraising total.

If you wish to be involved with the organisation by becoming a member, supporter or volunteer, get in touch via email to tocumwal@canassist.com.au or by calling 0467 926 557.
