Benalla Rural City Council is reminding residents that the Kerbside Service Review survey is closing soon.

Significant changes are on the way for waste and recycling services across Benalla.

In line with the Victorian Government’s 2030 mandate for a four-stream waste and recycling system, these changes will introduce separate glass recycling, which is designed to enhance resource recovery.

To ensure that these changes meet the specific needs of Benalla’s urban and rural residents, council has been conducting a review of its current kerbside services.

The review includes considering the introduction of kerbside glass collection and communal drop-off points.

“Your input is vital as we aim to create a waste and recycling system that benefits everyone,” Mayor Danny Claridge said.

“We want to hear from as many residents as possible to ensure that the changes we implement reflect the preferences and priorities of our community.

“I strongly encourage everyone to take a few minutes to complete the survey and share their thoughts with us.”

Residents can visit haveyoursay.benalla.vic.gov.au to take part in the online survey.

For those who don’t have internet access, phone council’s customer service team on 5762 2600 to access a paper survey.

Submissions close on Monday, September 16.
