Bin upgrades at Nagambie and Avenel transfer stations

Planning ahead: The new bin bays will mean more rubbish can be handled at these sites.

Strathbogie Shire Council has received $290,000 from the Victorian Government to add bin bays at the Nagambie and Avenel transfer stations to cater for population growth.

Strathbogie Shire Mayor Laura Binks said the new bin bays would be needed as the towns’ populations continued to grow.

“We have seen huge development taking place in both Nagambie and Avenel and it is important that services such as our transfer stations can support the population growth,” Cr Binks said.

There is a limit of four cubic metres of waste per household/vehicle per day.

Council does not accept bricks, concrete, clean fill or tiles at any of its transfer station sites.
