Club members both old and new congregated at the Numurkah Senior Citizen Club’s headquarters on McCaskill St today to mark a milestone day in the club’s history.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, October 9, the Numurkah Senior Citizens Club celebrated its 63rd birthday.

Club President Leonard Morey said every seat was filled and the club had planned well ahead for the special day.

Members of the club were presented with certificates for their long service.

Recognised for twenty years of Numurkah Senior Citizens club membership were Max Taylor, Les Addison, Merle Morey, and Leonard Morey.

Barbara Heep and Beverly Sharpe were also recognised for 25 years of service to the club.

To top it all off, Barbara and Beverly each took the first slice of not just one - but two cakes.

There was also a buffet of appetisers, tea and coffee and various sponges and cakes.

Throughout the year, the club runs carpet bowls and bingo competitions, and also owns two full-sized billiard tables.
