The BlazeAid camp at Swanpool’s Albert Heaney Reserve might have to pack up by the end of next week.
BlazeAid volunteers have been in Swanpool helping local landowners repair fencing damaged by recent flooding and storms.
Current camp co-ordinator Greg Noble said after Sunday it would be down to just three volunteers, and he feels there might be more local landowners who are yet to request assistance.
“If anyone needs help we’d love them to contact us,” Mr Noble said.
Some local landowners might not be aware of the scope of assistance BlazeAid could offer.
“We are here to help after any natural disaster, whether that is fire, flood, cyclones, even just a storm that might have brought some trees or limbs down,” Mr Noble said.
So far the camp has been a big success with locals giving more than 154 volunteer days of their time to help.
“We have started work on 15 farms and finished 13 of those,” Mr Noble said.
“And we have 21 registered so we’ve still got more to get started on.”
Mr Noble said he believed there might be more landowners out there who could use some help, but that some might be unaware that help is available.
He would also love to get some more volunteers signed up.
“After this weekend we’ll be down to three volunteers,” he said.
BlazeAid volunteers are well looked after with free camping available at its Swanpool site.
Volunteers are also fed well with three meals a day including a two-course meal in the evening.
