Jerilderie Bakery is a popular spot for people to meet up.

Last Tuesday a group of ladies, all wearing bright pink t-shirts bearing the logo Mac Cousins, arrived on the sunny side of the bakery where a group from the local seniors exercise class were having a coffee.

It transpired that the visiting women were all descended from the same MacDonald grandmother, and have been meeting up for at least 20 years, on a regular basis. Husbands and male cousins are not included in their annual escapades!

Their destination was Yarrawonga, after they’d enjoyed coffee and cake in Jerilderie.

There was also a local connection for one of the Mac Cousins, which involves a well-known local lady.

They meet at the Cox Plate every year with a group of old school friends, and have a ball.
