Over $10,000 was raised at the recent St Patrick’s Day Charity Bowls held at Shepparton Park Bowls Club on Thursday, March 16.

Event convenor Ron Holland said there were around 144 players, making up 36 teams.

He expressed his gratitude to all those who supported the event, especially those who contributed to the prize pool.

“We have 11 grand worth of prizes, so a tremendous response from the sponsors, given the hard times they’ve been through,” Mr Holland said.

The club has held this event for the past 33 years and has raised over $120,000.

Shepparton Park Bowls Club chairman Kelvin Rogash also thanked the sponsors and expressed his appreciation to Mr Holland.

“I’d just like to say how great a day this is,” Mr Rogash said.

“Ronnie Holland has done a great job organising it, and thanks to Bicknell’s Freight for being a major sponsor for the day.

“It’s a great charity (fund)raising day.

“Each year we run it (and) the funds go to different organisations each time.

“This year it’s going to FoodShare.”
