Berrigan Rural Fire Service responded to a car fire north of Berrigan at 11.20pm on Tuesday, December 3.
The Berrigan RFS responded with two tankers, on arrival they found a car fully engulfed in flames that had looked to have been dumped.
It is believed the car has been stolen from Deniliquin earlier in the week.
The grass around the vehicle had also caught alight.
Both the vehicle and the grass were extinguished with the help of the Berrigan Fire + Rescue NSW brigade, which had one truck on site.
The police are still investigating the vehicle blaze, and the car theft in Deniliquin.

Finley’s Fire + Rescue NSW brigade was also called to a car fire, on Wells Rd, Finley at 5am Tuesday.
Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters doused the car in water.
Power lines directly overhead posed an increased risk to the community, and it took firefighters until 6.30am to fully extinguish the blaze.
Police were also called to the car fire.

Sighting of smoke were reported to Finley’s FRNSW brigade from the direction of the Newell Highway, on Sunday.
Crews responded about 8.30am, discovering a shed fire.
Finley FRNSW and Finley Rural Fire Service worked side by side to battle the blaze.
They were able to limit the spread of the fire to an area measuring only 4m².
The fire was extinguished and under control by 10.30pm.
