Four rural agricultural businesses have been short-listed in the 2022 Campaspe Murray Business Awards.

The four finalists were announced recently in the HW Greenham & Sons Best Agribusiness Award section

They include the organic free-range egg farmers Colin and Rochelle Crow, who run Jen’s Hens at Kyabram; and SLTEC liquid fertilisers based in Tongala, which was established by the McMaster family in 2005.

Other finalists include Atkinson Shearing, run by Clinton and Kylie Atkinson from Moama, which was established by Clinton’s father Noel Atkinson Senior; and Progressive Rural Solutions, a business based near Deniliquin, which assists agricultural businesses through development applications. The business was established in 2019 by Clare and Michael Fitzpatrick.

Campaspe Shire Council Deputy Mayor Colleen Gates congratulated the finalists on their outstanding achievements.

“Over the last few years, our business community has been through an exceedingly challenging time,’’ Cr Gates said.

“These awards exemplify the strength, resilience and resolution of businesses on both sides of the river.

“The finalists should be tremendously proud of their achievement, and I wish them all the best at the presentation evening.”

Murray River Council Mayor Chris Bilkey said the awards celebrated the region’s diverse business community.

“The leadership and innovation of our local businesspeople knows no bounds,’’ Cr Bilkey said.

“Their efforts are deserving of public recognition and praise.

“The Nichol Trading People’s Choice Award is now open to public voting.

“I encourage all community members to vote for their favourite finalist business.
