Campaspe Shire Council has appointed an interim chief executive while the search to fill the position continues.

Tim Tamlin has been named as acting chief executive to begin Monday, May 30.

Mayor Chrissy Weller said the appointment was an important decision for the council.

“Mr Tamlin brings extensive experience in senior leadership roles within the private sector and local government, including more than 10 years as a chief executive,” Cr Weller said.

“We also look forward to leveraging his skill sets in governance, compliance, cultural transformation and infrastructure planning.”

Mr Tamlin is filling in after previous chief executive Declan Moore resigned in early May.

Cr Weller said the hiring process to select a permanent chief executive could take up to five months.

“Council is in the process of appointing a recruitment consultant to assist with the critical task of finding a new CEO,” Cr Weller said.

“Mr Tamlin’s collaborative style and values-based work ethic will bring positive and stable leadership as we continue to deliver on our organisational, community and strategic commitments.”
