Campaspe shire towns have missed the list of regional Victorian towns which are the most searched on search engine InfoTrackGo.

The leading information provider is a top choice for prospective home buyers and the latest property data has listed more than a dozen locations outside of Melbourne that are among the state’s most searched towns.

The latest figures from property experts InfoTrack reveal Wodonga, 300 kilometres north-east of Melbourne, has come in at number five for the highest number of suburb searches ordered of any Victorian location on the InfoTrackGO site from January to July this year.

InfoTrackGO spokesperson Sandra Falzon says Wodonga also placed high on the national list.

“Wodonga, on the New South Wales border, is Victoria’s fastest growing regional city and is known for its vibrant sporting culture. Not only did it make the top 10 list in Victoria, it came in at number 24 on the national list showing it is indeed a property hotspot,” Ms Falzon said.

Concerns that the recent floods of the region may have impacted on the appeal of the region were squashed as the heavily impacted Mooroopna and Shepparton were both on the list.

At number nine on the list of Victoria’s most coveted locations is Mooroopna, 180km north of Melbourne. Known as the Fruit Salad City, it sits on the banks of the Goulburn River opposite the major service city of Shepparton, which was also a popular choice.

Other sought-after areas in regional Victoria include Point Lonsdale on the Bellarine Peninsula, Foster, north of the Gippsland coastline, and Flinders, a seaside town on the Mornington Peninsula.

“We are seeing ongoing interest in regional areas, as flexible working arrangements post COVID mean a daily commute is a thing of the past, and buyers can get more space while still enjoying access to major services,” Ms Falzon said.

InfoTrackGO saw the highest number of property searches ever over the month of July, pointing to a promising spring selling season ahead.

The InfoTrackGO site allows prospective buyers to take their research into their own hands by ordering title searches on specific properties, property valuation reports or approved developments in the area.

Buyers can also discover the history of a property, find out what types of renovations they might be able to carry out, and learn more if a home sits in a flood zone or on contaminated land.

Throughout 2023, 14 regional towns have been among Victoria’s most searched suburbs on InfoTrackGO.

In no particular order, these are: 1. Wodonga 2. Mooroopna 3. Shepparton 4. Sale 5. Foster 6. Point Lonsdale 7. Bellbrae 8. Flinders 9. Hepburn Springs 10. Irrewarra 11. Rosebud 12. Cobram 13. St Andrews Beach 14. Ocean Grove.

As well as property reports, Australians can also use the InfoTrackGO site to carry out company, individual and vehicle searches. More information can be found on the website.
