Two people were taken to hospital after a collision between a truck laden with sheep and a car north of Tatura on Monday, May 1.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Merrigum-Ardmona Rd and Tatura-Undera Rd about 12.20pm.

Police said the car was pushed into a four-metre ditch as a result of the crash.

One of the car’s occupants was flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital by air ambulance in a serious condition with upper body injuries, an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.

A second man in the same car, who had upper body pain, was taken to Goulburn Valley Health by ambulance in a stable condition.

The truck driver and his cargo of 100 sheep were not injured.

Police investigations into the crash are ongoing.

It is the same intersection where a 44-year-old Kialla woman was killed in a collision between her car and a rigid truck on December 7.
