A woman was allegedly driving at 209km/h on a rural road in the Goulburn Valley on Friday, June 16, police claim.
Shepparton Highway Patrol Senior Constable Mathew Farren said police were following another vehicle of interest when a black Holden Commodore passed the unmarked police vehicle at a high speed on Merrigum-Ardmona Rd at Ardmona.
He said police clocked the car allegedly driving at 209km/h in a 100km/h.
The car was impounded by police for 30 days at a cost of $1260.
A Merrigum woman, 31, will be charged with excessive speed at more than 45km/h over the limit, careless driving and driving at a dangerous speed.
She will have to front a Magistrates’ Court over the charges.
