A driver was spotted allegedly doing a burnout in a residential Shepparton street where a serious accident occurred only a week earlier.

Shepparton Highway Patrol Senior Constable Mathew Farren said police spotted a black BMW doing a burnout about 8.30pm on Friday, June 16.

Police had been in the area doing extra patrols after a serious crash a week earlier.

The car was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1240.

A 19-year-old Kialla man will be charged with unlicensed driving, and improper use of a vehicle by losing traction.

He will front Shepparton Magistrates’ Court over the charges.
