Emergency services are working to pull a man from a car after it veered off the Goulburn Valley Hwy at Kialla West on Wednesday, May 3.

Shepparton police Leading Senior Constable Glenn Fitzgerald said it appeared the man’s car had veered off the highway and over a channel about 100m south of Kialla West Primary School.

Six Fire Rescue Victoria firefighters are working to free the man — believed to be in his 70s — from his car, but Leading Sen Constable Fitzgerald said he didn’t appear to have any serious injuries.

Only the one vehicle was involved in the crash, which was left on its side after it veered off the road.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 2.15pm.

The Goulburn Valley Hwy was down to one lane of traffic, but southbound traffic has since been directed down Mitchell Rd.

Minor delays are expected for people in the area.

Leading Sen Constable Fitzgerald said it was unclear what caused the incident.
