Get your vocal cords and dancing shoes ready, Carols by Candlelight returns to the Deniliquin Waring Gardens this Friday.
Coordinated by the Rotary Club of Deniliquin, supported by Edward River Council and sponsored by SunRice, it’s one of the biggest community events of the year.
The carols form part of the Edward River Council Community Christmas Party, and will begin with the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree by Mayor Ashley Hall.
Santa will be a welcomed guest on the night, giving kids and families another sighting before he gears up for his run delivering Christmas presents to people all around the world.
Santa will also have some lolly bags to hand out to the little ones.
Rotarians will fire up their famous barbecue, so everyone can grab a feed and enjoy the night on a full stomach.
Also on sale will be envelopes for Rotary’s Deniliquin time capsule project, and glow products.
Rotary Club of Deniliquin president Iain Goodway said a number of high-level local musical talents have been secured to perform.
These include Zara Lindeman, Con Spirito Voices, Serge Strazhnik, Sing Australia Choir, The Groovy Dudes, The Next Big Thing with Lucy Herbert and with Izzy Pearn, The BILLLS, Mark Richards, the Edward River Concert Band conducted by Richard Sievers and South West Music staff and students.
The 2024 SunRice Carols by Candlelight is free to attend, and is always a great family-friendly evening.
The Christmas Party begins at 5pm, and carols is expected to be wrapped up by 9pm.
A fireworks display will conclude the festivities, weather permitting.
