CCTV to be installed at multiple locations

In efforts to continue to work towards a safer community, Berrigan Shire Council plans to implement a staged project of installing CCTV.

The CCTV system will be installed and managed by a third party and content will only be accessed if there is an incident.

Council proposes to install CCTV at Barooga Adventure Park, Barooga Botanical Gardens, Finley Railway Park, and Finley Foundry Park.

These areas have been identified as priority due to their popularity and/or history of vandalism.

Council understand that residents may have privacy concerns and will accept public submissions regarding the proposed sites until Friday February 24 until 5pm.

Submissions can be made at mail@berriganshire.nsw.gov.au or by contacting the council’s administration office at 56 Chanter St, Berrigan.

Council proposes to install further CCTV sites in coming years and is looking for suggestions on other suitable sites.

Suggestions can be provided using the same email as above.

The email should be marked to the attention of Rohit Srivastava, and should include where you think CCTV should be installed and why you think it may be required.

These submissions will be considered for later stages of the project.
