CFA and water bombers extinguish fire near Katamatite

Twelve CFA units responded to a small grass and scrub fire at Barnes Road in Katamatite on Thursday, February 29.

Units from Cobram, Tungamah, Yarroweyah, Cobram East and Boosey, Katunga, Strathmerton, Burramine, Katandra, Muckatah and Katamatite responded to the fire, which began at 3.13pm, along with water bombing helicopters.

Victoria Police were also on the scene conducting traffic control.

Crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading, and the incident was declared under control at 4.06pm and declared safe at 4.47pm.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
