CFA brigades from across the region responded to multiple grassfires on the Northern Hwy at Elmore on Wednesday, September 18.
At 12.12pm, crews were alerted to the incident, with 14 total on the scene at 12.44pm.
About 10 fires were found over a 4-5km area, and units worked quickly to contain these.
CFA volunteers from brigades including Goornong, Rochester, Elmore, Stanhope and Axedale responded.
Victoria Police representatives were at the scene and Forest Fire Management Victoria was also called to the incident.
The fires were deemed under control at 1.23pm, with crews remaining on the scene removing burning material near the fire control line.
