CFA quick to keep community safe extinguishing paddock fire near Cobram

Nine CFA units were quick to respond to a paddock fire on Campbell Rd in Muckatah on Monday, March 4.

The fire was brought under control just 12 minutes after it was reported and declared safe less than 20 minutes after that.

Units from Cobram, Tungamah, Yarroweyah, Cobram East and Boosey, Katunga, Strathmerton, Muckatah and Katamatite, as well as police, attended the blaze, which started at 2.45pm and could be seen from the Cobram CBD area.

According to a CFA spokesperson, a tractor was also used to form a firebreak.

The fire was listed as under control at 2.57pm and deemed safe at 3.16pm.
