Motorists are being advised to prepare for an upcoming road closure in Caniambo due to significant construction works scheduled to start this month.

From Wednesday, May 1, Bridge Rd will be closed to traffic at the immediate site, between River Rd and Bells Rd.

The construction is expected to disrupt normal traffic flow for about eight weeks, weather permitting.

During this time, motorists will be redirected via Lowes Rd, Bells Rd and River Rd to ensure continuous access through the area.

Local residents will maintain access throughout the construction.

Plan your route: Due to the closure of Bridge Rd, Caniambo, three detours are in place.

The closure falls under the Major Culvert Renewal Program by the Greater Shepparton City Council, which will upgrade the road with a new culvert and guard rails.

The project focuses on the crossing of the road and a natural watercourse, a crucial step in ensuring the long-term durability and safety of the road for all users.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused during the duration of these works and thanks the community for their patience and understanding.
