Charges laid over fatal rollover in Moulamein

A 31 year-old man has been charged following a fatal car crash at Moulamein on December 22.

A six year-old boy died after a Hilux ute rolled on Moulamein Rd just after noon. The boy died at the scene.

A four year-old boy was treated by both Victorian and New South Wales paramedics before being flown to Melbourne Royal Children’s Hospital.

The male driver was released from hospital Wednesday morning and subsequently charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle, negligent driving (occasioning death), and two counts of drive with child between four and seven years old not restrained as prescribed. His driver’s licence was also suspended.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear in Deniliquin Local Court on Wednesday, February 15.
