On Friday, March 1, churches worldwide, including those in Shepparton, will come together to celebrate the World Day of Prayer.

Every year, WDP focuses on a different country, and the women of that nation craft the program. This year, participants are praying for Palestine.

Regardless of your faith or lack thereof, WDP is an excellent opportunity to learn about what’s happening in another country and gather with Christians to pray.

Prayers will begin in Palestine and around the world, in native languages — through Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.

The WDP, functioning as an international, inter-church organisation, offers a platform to listen to the hopes, concerns and prayers of women worldwide.

WDP is celebrated in over 170 countries on the first Friday of March every year.

The Shepparton Baptist Church, at 600 Wyndham St, Shepparton, will host the service at 10am.
