Nine thousand entitlements totalling around $1.2 million are waiting to be claimed in Greater Shepparton.

The Victorian Government is urging residents across the state to search the register and check for any unclaimed money they may be owed.

Every year, millions of dollars end up in the Victorian unclaimed money register.

Funds come from a variety of situations, including share dividends, salaries and wages, rents and bonds, debentures and interest, proceeds from sales and Tattersalls, Intralot and Tabcorp winnings.

“We encourage Victorians to check the website and claim their unclaimed monies — this could provide substantial benefits to people if they make the effort. If you are not sure, our advice is to go to the website and check,” Treasurer Tim Pallas said.

To search for and claim owed money, simply visit sro.vic.gov.au/unclaimedmoney and search the register using a personal or company name and address.
