State Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland has toured some of the Euroa region’s primary schools, meeting emerging young leaders in Avenel and Kilmore last week.

The politician visited Avenel Primary School and St Patrick’s Primary School in Avenel to be a part of the new leaders’ badge ceremony and discuss leadership.

Ms Cleeland said it was fantastic to drop into the schools and wish the new cohort of leaders the best of luck.

“Students at both schools gave me some fabulous advice about what being a leader means to them, which I will certainly be passing on to MPs during the next parliament sitting,” she said.

“Some of the values shared with me included kindness, humility, responsibility, compassion, not being arrogant and not being annoying.”

She said if everyone in leadership reflected those qualities, the world would be better.

“It’s fair to say these schools, and the wider Avenel and Kilmore communities, are in incredibly good hands with these new teams of student leaders,” Ms Cleeland said.
