Club drives donation for important cause

Thank you: Echuca Neighbourhood House’s Alyx Jorgensen accepts the donation from Echuca and District Historic Vehicle Club president Ken Wilson.

Like many community groups, Echuca and District Historic Vehicle Club relies on various fundraising activities each year to maintain its viability.

One of these is the Bunnings barbecue.

Club president Ken Wilson said this year the membership had decided to donate a portion of these funds to a local charity.

Amid these challenging times of higher interest rates and soaring food, fuel and energy costs, it was decided the Echuca Foodbank would be an appropriate recipient.

Echuca Neighbourhood House administration assistant Alyx Jorgensen thanked the club for its donation.

Ms Jorgensen said the donation would make a big difference, as the number of families in need had increased in 2023.

Echuca Neighbourhood House’s Christmas campaign consists of a Reverse Advent Calendar program, which is packed with a number of items that many of us take for granted.

They include non-perishable foods, Christmas treats and even self-care items such as good-quality shampoo and conditioner.
