Cobram Library will welcome local authors Benny Charles and Alex Robinson to discuss their debut novel The Phoenix and the Spider on Thursday, December 7.

The Phoenix and the Spider is the first novel in the Children of the Aether series and is about personal discovery in a world of fantasy.

The Phoenix and the Spider have haunted Theo’s dreams for as long as she can remember. One evokes a feeling of warm comfort, the other unbridled fear. Yet their presence in her otherwise unremarkable existence remains a mystery.

Hidden in these visions lie the secrets of a past that spans countless lifetimes, each filled with love, death and untold power waiting to be reawakened.

If Theo doesn’t unravel the truth soon, though, she will be doomed to the same cruel fate that has followed her for millennia.

The book’s authors are based only an hour’s drive from Cobram, in Benalla.

Mr Charles is a bar manager and enjoys film, music, literature, video games and other outlets for turning pain into productivity.

Ms Robinson is a travel enthusiast and works as a pastry chef.

The Phoenix and the Spider is an ideal book for those who enjoy fantasy fiction, and the Cobram Library event is the perfect opportunity to meet the two authors as they share their creative journey.

The event begins at 2.30pm, and copies of the book are available for purchase.

If you cannot attend the Cobram event, the two authors will also visit Euroa Library on Thursday, November 30, at 2pm.

Please get in touch with Goulburn Valley Libraries on 1300 374 765 or email cobram@gvlibraries.com.au if you wish to attend the event.
