Cobram Lions Club have donated a new front loader washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster and a gift card for personal items to a family which lost everything in a house fire.

Christine Hunter and her two children needed to replace everything following the fire which occurred just a few weeks ago.

Cobram Lions were informed about the disaster and the difficulties the family faced so the club decided to help.

Using money raised it had already raised, Lions purchased the household appliances to help relieve the pressure as Ms Hunter and her kids settle into their new home.

The items were delivered by Betta Electrical on Wednesday, March 15, with club secretary Janet Austin and treasurer Ron Simon present.

Mrs Austin said it was a pleasure assisting the family and added it was all part of the club’s mission to assist those in the community in need.

“We are wherever we are needed,” Mrs Austin said.

The Lions Club will be at the Cobram Community Expo on Saturday, April 22, for anyone interested in finding out more about it.
