A wonderful evening was held in July to celebrate the changeover dinner for the Lions Club of Cobram.

A club spokesperson said the club has had a fantastic year.

“We may be small in numbers, but all our work over the last 12 months did not go unnoticed, and has seen several Cobram community groups benefit from our activities,” the spokesperson said.

“Over the past couple of weeks we have been visiting different places, surprising, and personally handing over donations to different groups. All of which help in some way to assist people in our Cobram community.

“Thank you everyone who supported the Cobram Lions Club. Without this support the club could not have donated over $22,000 for the year.”

At the start of the evening, Lions member Ron Simon was presented with a prestigious award.

“It was a pleasure to welcome his family to the evening to celebrate this award with Ron,” the club spokesperson said.

“Congratulations to Lion Ron Simon on being presented the Chris August Memorial Award at the changeover dinner.

“Well-deserved Ron.”
