Cobram Uniting Church is holding a music and pizza night on Sunday, April 30 at the church.

Starting at 4pm, the event will feature special guest Mark Rumble along with a three-person band.

Mr Rumble is a well-known musician who works with young people in regional towns such Cobram and Shepparton, and will be performing modern songs that combine gospel praise with upbeat music.

Event organiser Margaret Watson said the church was hoping to use the event to help bring the Cobram community together for a fun-filled time.

“We hope that people come together and meet. The idea is also to put on an event for the Solomon Islanders so they can better integrate into the community and feel welcomed,” she said.

Ms Watson said the church was hoping recently arrived Solomon Islanders would also perform at the event.

Ms Watson said it would be a fun event, with no religious obligation attached.

“Everyone is welcome. You don’t have to be part of the Uniting Church. It’s a fun time of fellowship followed by pizzas and sweets,” she said.

The Uniting Church is hoping to hold several big events in 2023, including a floral-themed afternoon tea in June.

Attendees are asked to RSVP by Sunday, April 23 to ensure organisers can properly cater the event.

RSVP by calling Margaret Watson on 0409 401 189.
