The OUTintheOPEN festival is back and promises to be full of vibrance.

From November 6 to 10, Shepparton will transform into a kaleidoscope of colour, showcasing our community's brightest talents and treasured local artists.

The festival’s theme is ‘Colour My World’ and will include the staple of the event, Carnival Day as well as several other exciting events.

“Be immersed in that rich and vibrant community, surrounded by difference but knowing we share the same dream of equity across the rainbow,” festival convenor Georgina Poort said.

“Celebrate being our fullest, most vibrant, rainbow colourful selves.”

Carnival Day will be on November 9 and hosted by the much-loved festival favourite, Frock Hudson.

The day will feature live music, market and information stalls, art to enjoy and immerse yourself in, and a trans and gender-diverse clothes swap.

Stay tuned to hear more about this year’s program.

The festival is still looking for volunteers and encourages anyone wanting to get involved, to get in contact.

“Volunteering was such a great way to be involved with OUTintheOPEN festival,” an OUTintheOPEN 2023 volunteer said.

“It gave me the opportunity to feel like I was part of the event, rather than just attending.

“It’s been a great way to immerse myself in the festival experience.”
