Seniors’ exercise program
Mitchell Shire Council, in partnership with the National Ageing Research Institute, is offering free outdoor fitness sessions for older adults as part of The Enjoy Impact Research Project.
The sessions are led by volunteers who have undergone comprehensive training under the guidance of certified instructors and NARI research staff.
Sessions are conducted on outdoor fitness equipment specifically designed for seniors.
Volunteers offer general advice only. For specific health questions, please consult your general practitioner.
The session will be held at Chittick Park on Pollard St, Seymour, on Fridays, July 19, July 26 and August 2 from 10.15am to 11.15am.
No bookings are needed, and everyone is welcome.
Please wear suitable exercise clothing and footwear, and don’t forget to bring a water bottle.
Sessions will not run in extremely wet, hot or windy weather.
Goulburn River Trail parkrun
The Goulburn River Trail park run starts at New Crossing Place on Manners St, Seymour, offering a picturesque route along the river on Saturdays.
It’s a fantastic way to enjoy the outdoors, stay active and connect with the community.
All are welcome to join this celebration of health and community spirit.

Royal Hotel Seymour Paranormal Investigation
Meet the publicans on Saturday, July 20, as they share their tales of haunting, history and hospitality, before the paranormal investigators and psychic mediums take you on a tour of buildings not normally accessible to the public.
The Royal Hotel has been the hub of the community in Seymour since 1848. From a Cobb and Co stop, a police station, a courthouse, a post office, morgue and once one of the grandest ballrooms in the state, this hotel has long been rumoured to be haunted.
Groups will be provided with a range of paranormal equipment to investigate. Attendees must be 18 years or older.
You never know who you may encounter!
Tours run for approximately three hours including dinner and a two-hour investigation. The tour will run from 6.30pm to 10pm.

Seymour Rotary Market
Seymour Rotary Market is back on Sunday, July 21.
Vendors will be showcasing and selling items such as soaps and candles, kids’ and baby wear, jewellery, pottery, dressings and sauces, wine and alcohol, different ranges of baked goods, food, fruits and vegetables, homewares and gifts.
The market will run from 9am to 1pm at Chittick Park.
Enjoy good food and entertainment, including the music of Papa Jomo’s Blues.
Winter Wonderland
Strathbogie Shire Council has announced the return of the highly popular Winter Wonderland event this August.
After a successful event in 2022, Jacobson’s Outlook, Nagambie, the old Gambles Nursery Site on Binney St, Euroa, and the newly added site at Jubilee Park, Avenel, will be transformed with winter magic.
The Winter Wonderland will kick off at Nagambie’s Jacobson’s Outlook on High St from Saturday, August 3, from 11am to 7pm, and Sunday, August 4, from 11am to 4pm.
It will be followed by Avenel’s Jubilee Park on Saturday, August 10, from 11am to 7pm, and Sunday, August 11, from 11am to 4pm.
The last Winter Wonderland event will be in Euroa on Saturday, August 24, from 11am to 7pm, and Sunday, August 25, from 11am to 4pm.

hArt 24
This winter, Mitchell Shire Council will present the third annual hArt of Mitchell visual arts exhibition.
hArt 24 will be exhibited in Broadford Hall from Saturday, July 27 to Sunday, August 4.
With over 120 artists’ work being presented in the Broadford Hall and Chambers Gallery, this exhibition spotlights the amazing creativity of the Mitchell community.
For the first time ever, the show will feature the works from some local First Nations artists.
There will also be an intimate workshop on Sunday, July 28 from 10.30am to 1pm with two Indigenous artists who will share their art practice.
