The next round of Greater Shepparton City Council’s Community Grants Program is open now.
Local community groups and not-for-profit organisations are encouraged to apply for the following grants:
- Small Town Festive Decorations: grants of up to $3000 are available for small towns within Greater Shepparton to decorate their main street and/or public space to celebrate the festive season.
- Community Matching: grants of up to $5000 are available for community groups to support one-off projects and events which benefit and strengthen the Greater Shepparton community.
- Minor and Major Event: grants of up to $2000 (minor) and up to $5000 (major) are available to help assist events which will boost tourism, and will increase community spirit, participation, inclusion and wellbeing.
The council’s sustainable development director, Geraldine Christou encouraged eligible community groups and organisations to apply.
“These grants are specifically designed for our community. Each round of funding is set aside to help local groups host events, run programs, or make purchases that benefit the broader community,” she said.
“I encourage residents to think creatively and consider unique, impactful ways to use this funding for a wide variety of projects.”
The council will also be hosting two free information sessions to provide information about the application process for those wishing to apply for the grants.
Both sessions will be held at the Council Offices in Shepparton on Wednesday, November 27, with the first from 1pm to 2pm and the second from 5pm to 6pm.
Registration for the sessions is not needed. .
Applications for all three grants are open now, and will close on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 5pm.
