Nineteen residents were appointed to the Moira Shire Council Community Panel at a council general meeting on Wednesday, November 27.

The panel will play a major role in shaping the council’s 20-year vision, while helping the council identify priorities and opportunities for growth across the shire.

Moira Shire Council chair administrator Graeme Emonson described the panel as an essential forum for community consultation, transparency and engagement.

“This group of residents will provide valuable insights and guidance to the council as we set the blueprint for the future,” Dr Emonson said.

Panel members were selected based on their experience, expertise and ability to provide informed advice to the council.

“It is critical that we capture the aspirations and needs of the entire community in the 2045 Community Vision,” he said.

“We extend our gratitude to all who applied and look forward to working closely with the appointed panel to build a vibrant and inclusive Moira Shire.”

The establishment of the panel highlights the council’s commitment to fostering inclusive decision-making, good governance and meaningful engagement.
