Remembrance Day 2021
Remember to remember at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month. Cobram Barooga RSL will conduct a COVID-safe service at the Cobram and District Memorial commencing at 10.45am on Thursday 11th November. Another brief covid-safe service will be conducted at the memorial at the entrance to Barooga Sporties commencing at 12.30pm. At both events you will be asked to provide evidence of double vaccination status at the check-in station. Anyone wishing to lay a wreath should report to the coordinator before 10.15am on the day. LEST WE FORGET.
Poppy Appeal 2021
Cobram Barooga RSL will have Poppy Appeal stalls at Woolworths and outside Cobram Betta and Cobram Newsagency today or purchase or donate where you see the Poppy Appeal merchandise in local stores. If you are unable to get to a stall, online donations can be made via the Poppy Appeal Australia Facebook page, or at poppyappeal.com.au. All proceeds are used for veteran welfare and so your donation to the Poppy Appeal changes the lives of veterans and their families. We will remember them.
The Courier accepts notices for the diary from not-for-profit organisations and community groups. Contributions must be emailed by 5pm on the Friday before publication.
So long, farewell
It is with sadness that I announce after a year of writing for the Cobram Courier, I am moving on to my next adventure.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank every single community member who has supported me during this time.
I feel privileged to have shared the community’s most important stories and I will treasure the time I spent in this beautiful town.
Keep doing amazing things and look out for one other.
Thank you,
Jamie Salter
