Comp to build Muster Fever

There’s now less than three weeks until Deni Ute Muster fans take over the town, and locals are starting to get swept up in the excitement.

A series of events are being organised to generate the Muster vibe early, which includes a business/organisation display competition from the Deniliquin Business Chamber.

Chamber, along with Deni Ute Muster and Edward River Council is offering two adult passes to this year’s Muster, valued at $620, to the winning entrant.

Any business can participate, and your display can either be in your shop front or elsewhere inside your business premises.

The only rule is that is must be Ute Muster themed.

Chamber executive officer Kate Pitt said it’s the perfect way to celebrate Deniliquin’s largest event, and celebrate the tourism and money it brings into the community.

“Let’s work together to muster up the town, welcome visitors, and promote our local pride,” she said.

A number of displays are already popping up, with the Deniliquin’s Salvation Army Store, St Vincent de Paul Deniliquin and the Peppin Heritage Centre already getting into the spirit of decorating.

Chamber Champion Kathy Simpson - who has also had a long association with the ute Muster in many roles - will have the honour of announcing the display winner on Monday, September 30.
