Conargo showcases spirit of sharing

Conargo Public School students have made a most generous donation to River Region Early Education’s mobile service.

Conargo was gifted a number of toys and games last month when the Variety Bash passed through town.

In truth, they were probably given more than they needed, so the students and staff used the opportunity to share the love.

The mobile service offers childcare and preschool education opportunities to the areas surrounding the Deniliquin and Barham River Region Early Education Centres.

The service visits Conargo each Thursday.

So the school felt it was fitting that the younger children in the community have access to some of the resources donated to them.

The donation of toys was greatly received by the mobile service staff.

Among the gifts were wooden cars, sand trays and some jigsaw games.

Conargo’s acting principal Kylie Charlton said she was extremely proud of her students for their level of awareness and kindness to come up with the idea and follow through with it.

“This whole idea was student-driven, she said.

“The kids came up with the idea and picked out some things that were more age appropriate for the little ones.”

The Victorian Variety Bash made a stop at Conargo Public School on Friday, August 16.
